PedodonticsThe most important modification of amalgam restorations on primary teeth is cavity preparation (Answer: 2). Unlike permanent teeth, primary teeth have a thinner enamel layer and a larger pulp chamber relative to their size. Therefore, the cavity preparation must be done with caution to avoid pulp exposure and ensure the longevity of the restoration.

The possibility that a distal step would become class II is very real, and this not self correcting problem. When the central incisors erupt, these teeth use up essentially all of the excess space in the normal primary dentition. With the eruption of the lateral incisors, space becomes tight in both arches. Continued development of the arches improves the spacing situation, and by the time the canine teeth erupt, space is once again adequate.
Normal child will go through a transitory stage of mandibular incisor crowding at age 8 to 9 even if there will eventually be enough room to accommodate all the permanent teeth in good alignment. In other words, a period when the mandibular incisors are slightly crowded is a normal developmental stage.

Anatomy
Facial Artery: 1: True, it has cervical and facial portions. 2: True, it arises from the external carotid artery above the lingual artery. 3: True, it crosses the mandible at the anterior edge of the masseter muscle. 4: False, the cervical portion lies beneath the platysma,
but the facial portion does not exactly lie "superficial in the carotid
triangle"; rather, the facial artery travels more superficially than the
cervical part in its course.

When mercury comes in contact with the
alloy powder (mainly silver, tin, copper):
Mercury first dissolves the outer surface of the alloy particles.
After dissolution, new reaction products begin to form:
Ag–Hg (gamma-1 phase) from reaction with silver
Sn–Hg (gamma-2 phase) from reaction with tin (in low-copper amalgam)
Cu–Sn (eta phase) replaces gamma-2 in high-copper amalgam
