The most common site for CSF rhinorrhea
1. frontal bone
2. ethmoid bone
3. tegmen tympani
4. none
Anatomy
Answer: 2
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea occurs when there is a leak of CSF through the nasal cavity, often due to a defect in the skull base. The ethmoid bone is the most common site for such leaks because of its thin structure and proximity to the nasal cavity.
Primary teeth begin to calcify between the ________ and ________months in
utero.
1) first; second
2) second; fourth
3) fourth; sixth
4) sixth; eighth
The primary teeth begin to form in utero at about six weeks. Hard tissue
formation occurs in all primary teeth by the 18th week in utero. 3. The
permanent teeth begin to develop at approximately four months of age in utero.
Maxillary and mandibular first molars begin to calcify at birth.
The largest and longest root canal of the maxillary second molar is the
1. lingual
2. mesiobuccal
3. distobuccal
4. distal
Dental Anatomy
Answer: 1
The largest and longest root canal of the maxillary second molar is the lingual
The first teeth to erupt in the dental arches of the human being are the, primary
1. mandibular cuspids
2. maxillary central incisors.
3. mandibular central incisors
4. maxillary first molars
Dental Anatomy
Answer: 3
The first teeth to erupt in the dental arches of the human being are the, primary mandibular central incisors
Which of the following does not apply to the facial artery?
1. It has two portions cervical and facial
2. It arises just above the lingual artery from the anterior part of the external carotid
3. It crosses the mandible at anterior edge of masseter muscle
4. Its cervical portion lies beneath platysma muscle and facial portion lies superficial in carotid triangle
Anatomy
Answer: 4
Facial Artery:
1: True, it has cervical and facial portions.
2: True, it arises from the external carotid artery above the lingual artery.
3: True, it crosses the mandible at the anterior edge of the masseter muscle.
4: False, the cervical portion lies beneath the platysma,
but the facial portion does not exactly lie "superficial in the carotid
triangle"; rather, the facial artery travels more superficially than the
cervical part in its course.
When calcospherites fail to fuse during calcification of dentin matrix then
1 Interglobular dentin is formed
2 Dead tracts are found in formed dentin
3 Irregular dentin results
4 None
Dental Anatomy Answer: 1
Interglobular Dentin:
Sometimes, mineralization of dentin begins in small globular areas that fail to coalesce into a homogenous mass. This results in zones of hypomineralization between the globules.
These zones are known as globular dentin or interglobular spaces. Thus, demonstrating defect of mineralization and not of matrix formation, the dentinal tubules pass uninterruptedly through interglobular dentin.
The nerve to masseter passes
1. deep to the medial pterygoid muscle
2. posterior to temporomandibular joint
3. superior to zygomatic arch to enter the muscle on its medial surface
4. through the mandibular notch to enter the muscle on its medial surface
Anatomy
Answer: 2
The nerve to masseter passes posterior to temporomandibular joint
During eruption of permanent teeth, alveolar bone is
1. deposited only
2. resorbed only
3. resorbed and deposited intermittently
4. neither resorbed nor deposited
Dental Anatomy Answer: 3
During eruption of permanent teeth, alveolar bone is resorbed and deposited intermittently
